Speaking up to disrespect, disengaging with the cycles of abuse (and we do this from a place of love rather than pain) without using it as an excuse to live my great life ...
They say how did you get so courageous...?
I always reply with this,
Courage is a choice. I simply decided.
You see the root word of courage is core - heart
So it’s simply a choice of the heart. But that is not all, it is a choice of the heart backed by FAITH.
Ever choice of courage is deeply rooted in Soul.
How do I have the courage to live from the wildness of my soul?
Because I decided.
It’s a choice.
I decided long ago I wouldn’t settle.
I decided long who I would answer the call.
I decided long ago that my soul’s purpose and whispers are a worthy one and then I choose to back them with faith.
This doesn’t mean I don’t get afraid every time I take a leap! It does mean that choosing courage or faith is easy and comfortable - but my resilience lies in something much greater than me.
It is rooted in faith.
Knowing.
Backing myself.
