We lie to our children because we want to protect them, but we end up perpetuating pain and disconnection.

Our sense of safety becomes is distorted.
When a child can not tell the truth, or be in the truth if their emotional response they learn to shut it down. They learn to deny the truth out of fear that their needs won’t be met. Survival needs.
Why most people are not lit from the inside out, but depend on the Big Screen to light them from the outside in?
Its because so many of us were raised in an illusion and the truth was masked from fear of further pain. And in reality we think we are protecting them, but we are doing them a great disservice in learning to trust themselves.
That is why we have so many adults learning discernment and self-trust because we were not taught this, modeled this at a young age. Our society has become one big living ….lie.
Be honest with your children. They know and see the truth and when we lie to them, that truth goes unvalidated, unsupported and they stop trusting their own feelings, instincts and the pain cycle of repression begins with suppressing this inconsistency. This conflict. This split.
It starts with things like, ‘your Daddy/Mommy really loves you’ ...when in reality she/he is not there...is unable to show up, be present for himself/herself or you and when he does he is drunk or stoned and maybe sometimes aggressive and
e-motionally out of control.
It starts with things like, hug Auntie or Uncle so-and-so, even when the child’s physical response is to run the other way. We fail to trust our children’s instincts and to teach them to disconnect and listen to authority, vs to trust themselves and their own body knowing. They grow up as adults that then are dis-embodied from the truth, their truth and then they have a hard time listening and trusting their own alignment, inner guidance inner knowing because they only received love and
support when they attuned to the needs of their parents vs trusting themselves.
And then the cycle continues. Until someone wakes up and decides to break it.
