Like so many of you, I have had my share of creative 'curve balls’ in my life and along the realization of my dreams... 

• from leaving a 6-figure corporate job to follow my soul’s calling, only to find myself deep in the midst of a potent spiritual awakening that rocked my world...

• completing my 5 year Masters and Clinical Training in Transpersonal Psychology with a focus in Creative Expression, $150,000 later only to discover that I didn’t want to be a therapist...

• to unexpectedly getting pregnant last summer and having to make the hard choice to become a single mother.

...and I am proud to say she is the BEST thing that has ever happened to me.  I know it may sound cliche, and I don’t care— it is so so very true!  She has changed my life and opened my heart in ways that I am still discovering and growing into.  I am forever humbled and honored to be her mother.

So yeah, I know a little bit about ‘creative curve balls’ and windy roads towards the       ever evolving path of success. Success, however you define it is NEVER a straight line.  This is the mystery of the creative process!

*For me success is knowing that I am following my heart, growing towards my full potential, expressing my creativity, gifts and calling authentically, in a way that expresses my highest values of love, joy, freedom and abundance for all.

If you have been in the studio painting with me before you may have heard me talk about how in the intuitive painting process, we have a saying that there are no mistakes in your painting.  Think Bob Ross wisdom. You know the early 70’s painter and TV host?

Yeah, that guy.  Everything that shows up in your painting, is part of the process.  Is part of YOUR process, your creative process, your awakening process, your process of self-realization and stepping into your creative potential as a co+creator in your life, in your relationships in your business.

YOUR PERCEPTION OF YOUR EXPERIENCE

HAS THE POWER TO SHIFT EVERYTHING. 

A CREATIVE MINDSET WILL SET YOU UP TO RECEIVE MIRACLES

As a professed, idealist, I could have played the victim. I mean after all, I have been teaching creativity, CLARITY, the creative process and authentic self-expression for the last 10 years.  This was not looking like the picture I had dreamed about.  Talked about, held in my heart for so long. I could have thrown a tantrum, let my inner child drive the bus into despair, taking a wrong turn down the road to scare-city thinking, doom and gloom.  I could have thought to myself 'this circumstance this is insurmountable'…that I was a failure, and I should just throw out the towel, now. I mean how could I continue to make a living doing what I love, raising a child by myself?   This was not my ultimate dream and vision to be a solo parent.

But I couldn’t allow my ego that much power, I had a little one that needed me to show up and be the MOM I had visioned and knew I wanted to be.

Then  remembered my own intuitive painting practice and what I tell others in the studio when we bump up (pun unintended!) against our inner critic...

TRUST YOUR PROCESS.  YOU AREN’T DONE YET, YOU ARE STILL IN THE FLOW OF YOUR CREATION.  YOUR VISION IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE.  IT MIGHT NOT LOOK EXACTLY HOW YOU THOUGHT IT SHOULD, RIGHT NOW, IN THIS MOMENT-- IT IS STILL IN THE PROCESS OF CREATION.

Phew. Like a baby in utero, we are all in process. A powerful moment when I had to take a big hefty dose of my own medicine.  There is a supreme creative intelligence working through us when we surrender, have faith and continue to take inspired action.   We truly become surprised and delighted.  We ARE supported, when we support ourselves by opening up to face ourselves an honest and this generous mindset. It is our little minds who think they know and need to control our creativity, inspiration, passion and dreams.
