Greetings Beloved Creative Ones!

Phew. Happy New Year to you! I trust you are starting 2015 off with a bang!  I know I am.  And it is all about focus.  After spending the holidays celebrating and releasing the old, clearing out so much of my home and studio in Austin, I feel a LOT lighter, freer, grateful, supported and creative inspiration abounds.  If you have yet to do so this –NOW is a FANASTIC time to clear and let go anything that does not serve you.  From material objects, to patterns and behaviors, to toxic relationships that bring you down. My move to Martha’s Vineyard was a great excuse to simplify my life, go minimalistic, gain freedom to further pursue my dreams, visions, callings and therefore many more opportunities abound than I could have ever dreamed of.

We must let go of what is in our hand, in order to receive what the Universe has in store for us. 

I have been living this truth over the last month and it has been an exhilarating experience.

What can you let go of?
What do you no longer need?
Where can you create more space in your life?

3) set intentions for the new year ahead, based on what it is we have learned the year prior

It is soooo important to acknowledge ourselves as powerful creators of our  realities.  Celebrate all your successes in art, life and business!  Forgive all of your ‘mistakes’,  transform your lessons into gold by using them as your foundation for this years bounty.

I want to share my celebrations with you and thank you, the Fire Tree Tribe for all of your support, feedback, and willingness to take this journey with me over the last year.  Below is what I am celebrating...

The Launch of The Freedom of Expression Tour!  Through inspiration, passion and collaboration, I partnered with clients and friends that hosted me around the country in these fantastic communities for 11 successful Painting From the Inner Fire Retreats.  It was inspiring and fun, as I integrated my passion for travel, connection painting and creative transformation in the tour.  Special thanks to all the hosts and lovely spaces that we ignited so many creative fires in!

The Birth of Fire Tree Boulder:  After Pam Simich, received her certification in the Creative Catalyst Training in May, we decided we wanted to play more together, collaborate on a bigger scale and grow a network of certified Fire Tree Creativity Catalysts around the globe.  A circle of studios and committed facilitators that stand for the same level of quality, professionalism and integrity of creative transformation that we honor in our values of The Fire Tree Method. We celebrate this and made it official through our affiliate agreement.  The bones are in place.  The appreciation, trust, respect and foundation is there. Oh we here we GrOw!

First International Retreat in Costa Rica! Smuggling paint into Costa Rica well... not really smuggling...we did go through customs and we found it is was easier to bring paint than it was to ship or buy it there.  Oh, the places we will go!  Oh the lessons we will learn!  Special thanks to the folks at The Blue Osa, who made our entire experience including setting up a painting studio in the yoga pavilion (with ocean views) in the middle of a rainforest quite and enjoyable feat!  Can’t wait for next year! Creativity without Borders.  It is just too good not to share! Fire Tree Studios social impact arm is now called, Creativity Without Borders.  No doubt Fire Tree Studios and its programs impacts us all on a individual and collective level to expand beyond our current level of creating, thinking, being and living. We love to give back and are inspired to share the creative love with people who need it most.  That is why we are teaming up with other expressive artist and facilitators, and change agents to collaborate on adventures in creativity in and out of the country to folks who are under served.  Stay tuned for more info and the launch of our new website for this initiative.   • Costa Rica at the Corodova school, Puerto Jiminez we donated our left over paint to the kids.  Paint is like gold in Costa Rica, very expensive and these kids were so excited to receive an abundance of paint!

  • I donated paint and my time to do a holiday expressive painting session with a group of US Veterans in Ft. Worth, TX.  This was an extraordinary experience and reminded me how easy it is to invite people to share their stories, all we need is a safe container, simple art supplies and permission to show up fully without shame.  These vet’s inspired me beyond belief and I definitely feel called to serve this population more with the freedom of artful expression.

  • When I moved from Austin I cleared out my house and home studio and donated a ton of paint and studio supplies to Vuka Co+Op and DreamSpirit Studio in Dripping Springs.  Stay tuned to upcoming Fire Tree Studios events at these studios in Austin!

Move to Martha’s Vineyard. While spending the fall here, post the September retreat, I felt called to write a book about my life's journey and my relationship to the island. I also felt that while I love Austin, it is changing and being on the road this year made me crave to come home to more nature, more inspiration and more peace.  The island called and I moved my home base here this January. I will still spend time in Austin and lead retreats and sessions at Vulka and DreamSpirit Studios.  Stay tuned for details and upcoming events.
