New Musing:  Fall in LOVE with What You Hate About Yourself.

Greetings Creative Ones - ( yes, that means you!)

Yes.  That is what I said.  Fall in LOVE with the parts of yourself that you hate.  That you don't like, that your afraid of, that people have told you were bad, or negative tendencies or what you perceive as your weaknesses.  Fall in deep, passionate whole bodied love with them.

Why on earth would I recommend this?

Now as we head more into winter, it is a great time to shine the light on that which we repress or have an aversion to. What we resist within ourselves becomes our shadow, the dis-owned parts of ourselves and they wreck havoc in our lives in the form of drama/trauma, repeating dysfunctional patterns and creating what we don't want.

It is because we are unconsciously REPRESSING these parts of ourselves. Anything we disown will creep up in some form or another and bite us! Robbing us of our power,  creativity, happiness and wholeness.

Yes, it sounds easy enough but when digging into the unconscious it gets a little slippery.  Let me show you. 

STEP 1
Take a piece of paper and jot down all of the things that you don't like about yourself or wish you could change.  Anything you have been told was bad, wrong or something to be ashamed of.   This could be what others have projected on to you that you still maybe carrying in your psyche or personality.

For example, here is my list to show you how easy and freeing this can be:

• I'm too fiery/passionate/intense
  
• 'ADD'/Highly imaginative-
• Afraid of Commitment
• Intense/Deep
• Disorganized
  
• Unfocused
  
• Stubborn
  
• Too Open
• Too Sensitive
• Not a great manager
• Too Internally focused
• Too Externally focused
• 'Not living in this reality'
  
• Hyper Creative, always churning ideas
  
• Overly intellectual or analytical
• Takes risks, Lives in the moment
• Too independent
  
• Too strong
• Etc. Etc

EMBRACE THE 'DARK'.  OK now, take this list and rather than see it as your faults, see it as what you are here to master in liberating this tendency or pattern to its highest expression.  This is your GENIUS.  The reason this is so powerful is that we can not change who we are! 

--->This is why self-improvement does not work and personal growth and evolution does, because it is taking what aspects are uniquely yours and maturing them into their highest potential.

For example, I am going to take my fiery, passionate nature and if I look at it in its highest form of expression-- I can channel my fire and passion into my creativity, business, relationships and use it as fuel for something that contributes to the evolution of the planet.  If I am not sharing my gifts, they can go to the 'dark side' and that energy or life force can actually hurt us and others and cause pain, stagnation, illness and a feeling of depression or loss.

STEP 2.

So take a moment, right now, to shift all of your 'hated' traits (or traits that someone has told you was not OK or something to be ashamed of) and shift them into their highest potential.  Here is my list to give you some inspiration and an example:

• I'm too fiery/passionate---> Channeled into my creativity, business, art, relationships with a fierce stance for truth and soulful awakening. Allows me to support my clients in working through their fears and limitations and uncomfortable emotions to experience a greater breadth and depth of life as do I.
  

• 'ADD'/Highly imaginative---> Creativity, Art ideas in business and creative problem solving for myself and clients.  The power to vision and create my reality and support others into tapping into their imagination.

• Intense/Deep--->   Intensity actually means, extreme strength or force. I am comfortable with intensity (my inner strength and life force) and guiding people to theirs.  The place where we feel most alive.  Where our juice is.

• Disorganized--->  I have learned to be comfortable with chaos.  I can actually thrive in chaos, find the stillness and teach others how to embrace chaos as a natural part of life and the creative experience. How to let go of control.  It also allows me to be in the flow and in the moment and open to opportunities.  I dance between organization and chaos which is the natural creative life cycle.
  

• Unfocused---> Trust in the natural flow of my attention, inspiration and enthusiasm and the readiness of things. Allowing the Divine to take the lead, trusting in Divine Right Order and timing for everything.

• Stubborn---> Tenacious.  Convicted.  The ability to see and idea, passion or calling through to its highest potential.  Grounded in myself. Relaxed Confidence. The ability to support and inspire this in others.
  

• Open---> Connected to the Unseen. Open to creative potential and possibility. Ability to share this with others.  Tap into a multidimensional reality for a more fulfilling life experience.

• Too Sensitive---> Gift in feeling and seeing things that others don't. Support others in connecting to their feelings, intuition and own inner wisdom.

• Not a great manager---> Trust in the empowerment and inspiration of others to manage themselves, figure things out on their own and hold themselves accountable to their word and commitments.

• Internally focused---> The gift of staying connected to Spirit for wisdom, peace and to re-nourish myself and fill my tank.  The ability to be comfortable within myself and teach this to others.

• Externally focused---> Gift of being expressive, connected and creating vehicles and channels to express my work in the world to serve the evolution of the planet.

• 'Not living in this reality'---> Ability to create my own reality and be in the world but not of it (a victim of it).  Ability to travel in other realms and discern what people places and energy I bring into my life.  The desire to share this perspective and consciousness with others in order to shift the collective reality into one that is more compassionate, loving, joyful and abundant for everyone!
  

• Hyper Creative, always churning ideas---> Ability to inspire, create and share those ideas with others.
  

• Overly intellectual or analytical---> Ability to have a sharp mind to cut through BS and support my vision with solid plans when required.

• Lives in the moment--->  Ability to go with the flow rather than resist the natural movement of live.  Be a co+creator with the Universal Life Force, vs.  trying to control, manipulate or dominate the natural evolution of things.

• Too independent---> Enjoy being in my own company.  Feel capable.  Take care of myself and my own needs, a natural leader.  Channel this into leadership of something I am passionate about, like creative potential for everyone.
  

• Too strong---> Fierce inner fire that is channeled in taking a stand for truth. Ability to set boundaries and walk away from what does not serve me.

• Etc. Etc...

I trust you get the idea.  With this new found perspective on things that you hate or have thought in the past were wrong, brought you shame, fear and therefore misguidance...can you see the gift in each?

3. When we fully embrace the 'darker parts' of what we resist within ourselves we open up to a fresh new perspective, resources and vision of ourselves and what we want to create in our lives.  All it requires is a shift in focus, energy and perspective to start moving in a more generative perspective.
